Working closely with other members of the Records Office Processing Team, the Completions Specialist coordinates multiple completion-related initiatives including proactive degree auditing, Guided Pathways, FinishFirstNC, and Reverse Transfer programs; serves on the Graduation Committee and assists with all aspects of Commencement; works collaboratively with Deans, Department Chairs, Program Directors, and Faculty Coaches by providing data to enhance retention and completion; provides training as needed to staff and faculty; serves as the Records Office representative to the Curriculum Committee; acts as a resource for the academic divisions regarding degree audits and NC Curriculum Standards; attends and participates in staff meetings; serves on teams and committees as assigned; attends training and professional development as required; and participates in projects.

- Coordinate multiple completion initiatives, including Finish First NC, reverse transfer, and guided pathways.
- Assist with degree audit for enrolled degree-seeking students.
- Work directly with academic departments to identify and support potential student completion and identify barriers to completion.
- Serve as a resource to academic and administrative offices for completion-related inquires.
- Track institutional policy and procedures, curriculum programs, annual catalog updates, academic regulations, registration data systems, and graduation/degree requirements as applies to completions-related difficulties.
- Provide training for faculty and staff for completion initiatives.
- Conducts herself/himself in a manner which is in keeping with the college philosophy respecting the worth and dignity of each individual, remaining aware at all times that s/he is possibly the first contact that the public may have with the college.
- Demonstrate and model the College’s employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork.
- Coordinating with multiple offices and departments across campus
- Managing multiple deadlines

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited post-secondary institution
Master’s degree from a regionally-accredited post-secondary institution
- 3-5 years experience in a College or University setting in an Advising or Records Office
- Experience with an integrated student information system, e.g., Ellucian Colleague, Banner, or Jenzabar
- Experience with Reverse Transfer procedures and practices
- Experience with degree auditing processes and procedures for processing applicants for graduation
- 5+ years experience in a College or University setting in an Advising or Records Office
- Experience using Ellucian Colleague
- Experience with FinishFirstNC and other completion initiatives
- Experience with imaging software
- Experience creating and producing reports using Entrinsik Informer
- General knowledge and support of the community college system and philosophy of comprehensive community college
- Knowledge of FERPA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High levels of accuracy, confidentiality, and trustworthiness
- Strong written and oral communication abilities and human relations skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, team participation, creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning, and decision-making processes
- Strong project management skills coupled with the desire to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word at the introductory level
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word at the intermediate level
Ability to work a flexible schedule as determined by the supervisor to cover the necessary hours. Registration, graduation, and other heavy work periods will require additional hours. Evening and weekend work may be required.
