Secondary Special Education Teachers (multiple positions) needed to teach grade appropriate academic subjects to students with various educational disabilities. Prepare individual education plans (IEP) following the curriculum guidelines and requirements. Plan instructionally to include appropriate curricula, instructional strategies and resources to address the needs of all students. Promote student learning by addressing individual learning differences and using effective instructional strategies. Assist students with disabilities for their academic activities by incorporating specialized strategies and techniques. Carry out the policies of the school board as they relate to the function of the school, to the classroom, and to the immediate contact with students and parents. Systematically gather, analyze and use data to measure student progress, guide instruction and provide timely feedback. Communicate effectively with students, school personnel, families and the community. Maintain a professional demeanor, participate in professional growth opportunities and positively contribute to the profession. Observe the professional ethics required for the instructional process.
Minimum Requirements: (a) A bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Exceptional Education, or related fields, and (b) The state teaching certificate, or eligibility to receive the certificate.
